Did Jessi Lie? Assault Victim's Family Vents Frustration At Rapper's 'Insincere' Apology
The 18-year-old fan of Jessi, who was assaulted by her acquaintance, revealed his side in a broadcast. He questioned the sincerity of the idol in her apology.
It was discovered recently that Jessi's group was involved in an assault case that took place on September 29.
In the CCTV captured in Apgujeong-dong Gangnam-gu, Seoul, victim A, a minor, asked for a photo with the rapper. But after she refused twice, one of the guys who was with Jessi suddenly attacked the student.
The "ZOOM" singer initially tried to stop him but eventually left the scene without taking any action. The victim reported the case to the police himself.
Jessi then released an official apology, stating that she only met the man who assaulted the victim on the same day, and she left because she was overwhelmed. She attested to people that she was cooperating with the police to capture the perpetrator who already fled.
On October 14, the victim's side appeared on JTBC's "Scandal Supervisor," and his mother was disappointed by Jessi's statement. She said:
"I saw the apology, but all she did was make excuses and say things like 'they weren't with me' and '(the perpetrator) suddenly showed up'. That doesn't make sense. That's because when my child saw it, (they) were together."

The victim further pointed out:
"With the way how 'moral responsibility' was worded in the apology felt like Jessi didn't write it. It lacked sincerity."
In the same show, the victim and his mother also claimed that the perpetrator must be a gang member based in LA, after "A" saw his big tattoo "K" and "OS," an abbreviation for Korean Outlaws.
Koala, the stage name of the suspect, is said to be a rapper and producer who worked with Jessi's albums "Nunu Nana" and "What Type of X."
In response to this, Jessi's agency briefly commented:
"Koala has worked with Jessi on music several times...but Jessi has no ties to gangs and has no knowledge of Koala being in a gang."
According to the police, four of the suspect's friend groups were already summoned for questioning and also considering inviting Jessi and her friends.
